About the Role
North Suffolk is looking for a Medication Specialist to join our team! The Medication Specialist will be responsible for the health, safety and quality of life of individuals in a residential setting through advocacy, teaching and coordinating care, and managing medication documentation.
This is a full-time 36 hours per week position with multiple schedules available.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and/or participate with individuals, based on their needs in medication, observation, documentation, refilling medications.
- Audit the medication binder on a weekly basis and report any errors.
- Assist individuals with medication documentation and medical appointments.
- Document and maintain all individual records including making med sheets when new medications arrive.
- Work directly with Nurse Manager/Case Manager.
- Print off medication lists to send off with clients.
- Participate in upkeep of medication room, supplies and sharps removals.
- Attend trainings and receive weekly clinically supervision from the Nurse Manager.
What you’ll need:
- Education: High school degree or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to receive certifications required.
- Experience: One year experience working in a setting with medication observation or dispensing preferred.
- Skills: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, required. Must be capable of intervening during crisis situations.
