About the role
As the Corporate Affairs Lead for Haleon Southeast Asia and Taiwan (SEAT), will take the lead in shaping and protecting Haleon’s reputation and business across a diverse and dynamic region. You will drive our communications agenda, shape government partnerships, and lead strategic advocacy efforts that support sustainable business growth.
This position will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will have direct oversight for MSB (Malaysia, Singapore, Brunie), Indonesia, Indochina (Vietnam + Cambodia). In this role, you will report into the Head of Corporate Affairs for APAC and General Manager for SEAT, both based in Singapore.
A day in The Life
Role Responsibilities
- You will partner closely with the SEAT General Manager to deliver impactful internal communications—bringing Town Halls, employee engagement platforms, and change narratives to life.
- You will support country leadership teams in crafting and executing communication and government affairs strategies that align with business priorities.
- You will design and deliver proactive external communications that position Haleon as a trusted leader—while building strong relationships with key media across SEAT
- You will work cross-functionally with regulatory, legal, and commercial teams to shape government affairs strategy and execution—leveraging your network to drive favourable policies and business-enabling outcomes.
- You will lead issues and crisis communications, proactively identifying risks and guiding the organization with clear, strategic messaging when it matters most.
- You will keep pace with geo-political trends and evolving best practices, ensuring Haleon’s communication approach remains relevant, modern, and impactful.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
- A degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy or other related qualifications
- 10-15 years’ experience in a Communications/Corporate Affairs role
Key skills:
- Experience leading or managing a regional scope within Southeast Asia
- Experience of regional internal and external communications strategy and delivery
- Good understanding of the Southeast Asian government affairs landscape and direct Government relationships at a senior level in Malaysia – complimented by demonstrated experience of leveraging your existing government network for tangible business outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in media relations, crisis and issues management
- Maturity to deal with and steer diverse internal stakeholders in a matrix organization towards clear outcomes
- Confidence to represent company in industry forums / committees independently
- Comfortable and adept at using AI-tools responsibly for efficiency and impact
- Highly collaborative working with a team spirit
- Able to excel in a leadership position without direct reports, leveraging agency support to drive outcomes
