About the Role

As our Electrical Shift Coordinator, you will coordinate the Mill/Surface electrical teams for maintenance of all electrical, network and radio equipment to keep our production going and our profitability up. Every day you will work at a mine on a remote island about 18 miles outside of Juneau, Alaska. You’ll start every job with safety first by inspecting your workplace, wearing the proper protective gear, and you will promote safety compliance in all tasks. To thrive in this role, you must be able to train, lead, and supervise the Mill/Surface electricians as well as coordinate their daily work to ensure maximum utilization of resources and meet operational requirements. We’re on a remote island; you must know how to work independently.

 About Us

  • Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
  • You have an Alaska state journeyman’s card and or MSHA Electrical Certification or be able to obtain one, extensive knowledge in electrical maintenance, and experience supervising team members.
  • Working on a remote island and living in a mining camp environment away from home if you are not based in Juneau. Every department is slightly different, but our electrical maintenance department works 15 days for 12.5 hours each, followed by 13 days off.
  • You will continually address electrical parts required for efficient equipment servicing/repairs and coordinate parts purchasing, delivery and staging to meet maintenance execution requirements.
  • You’ll work with electrical planner, trainer and foreman to meet immediate and long-term maintenance requirements and goals that support production targets.
  • You will lead and direct electricians in conjunction with other departments working closely with Mill Maintenance.
  • Safety is important. You must display due diligence in safety & health, and environmental matters and lead by example to ensure the successful implementation of the Safety & Health and Environmental Management Systems.
  • You’ll be a part of and help build a team you can rely on; a team that will have your back.
