We are seeking a highly qualified full-time Environmental Services Manager to join our team and support exceptional resident care. The ideal candidate will have senior living experience (long-term care, assisted living, or memory support) and a strong commitment to serving older adults.
This role oversees Environmental Services operations, including housekeeping, laundry, and related functions, ensuring appropriate staffing, resources, and service delivery to meet community needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, plan, and oversee all Environmental Services (EVS) operations, including housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and infection control support, ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, including infection prevention standards, OSHA guidelines, and senior living best practices.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standardized cleaning procedures, sanitation protocols, and quality assurance programs across all levels of care.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise EVS staff and team leads, ensuring adequate coverage across all shifts and care areas.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action to support staff development and accountability.
- Oversee departmental budgeting, supply ordering, inventory control, and vendor management to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, restrooms, and support spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate closely with Health Services, Resident Life, Plant Ops, and Dining Departments to support a clean and well-maintained community environment.
- Respond promptly to resident concerns, service requests, and family feedback with professionalism and urgency.
- Lead infection control and outbreak response cleaning protocols in coordination with clinical leadership.
- Manage equipment maintenance, cleaning supply usage, and proper handling of chemicals in accordance with safety standards.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, including disaster response, spill management, and facility-wide sanitation procedures.
- Track and report departmental performance metrics, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to leadership.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability, and resident-centered service within the EVS department.
- Ensure staff adherence to safety practices, including proper use of PPE and safe handling of biohazard materials.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible EVS management experience; long-term care or senior living experience preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a large, diverse EVS team in a CCRC or healthcare environment.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sanitation standards, OSHA/CDC guidelines, and outbreak cleaning procedures.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, inventory management, and vendor oversight.
- Ability to develop and enforce policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance and service consistency.
- Skilled in conducting inspections, audits, and quality assurance with corrective follow-through.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and manage performance issues.
- Proficient in computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to support resident-centered operations.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, resident rights, and service excellence.
- Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
