About the Role

Description

We are seeking an independent contractor with hands-on experience testing and using professional audio products, particularly digital and analog mixers and loudspeaker systems. The Audio Equipment Test Engineer will provide testing services that include configuring and operating audio equipment, executing test plans and test cases, documenting results, and collecting diagnostic data when issues are identified. The ideal candidate brings practical expertise in professional audio environments and can work independently while collaborating with engineering stakeholders to support product quality and performance objectives.

Requirements

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Set up, analyze, troubleshoot, and test analog and digital mixer systems.

• Measure critical performance parameters of analog and digital mixer systems using Audio Precision test equipment.

• Develop and execute test plans covering all features and configurations of the equipment under evaluation.

• Document testing results and collect relevant diagnostic data, including logs, audio recordings, and video files.

• Enter and track defects in Jira with clear descriptions, supporting documentation, and reproducible steps.

• Set up, analyze, troubleshoot, and test Dante digital audio networking equipment.

• Determine the test equipment required for assigned testing activities and perform the necessary setup.

• Perform testing services independently while coordinating with engineering stakeholders as needed.


Qualifications:

• Solid understanding of professional audio equipment and demonstrated experience setting up, configuring, and operating professional sound systems in real-world environments.

• Experience planning, implementing, troubleshooting, and testing Dante digital audio networks.

• Proficiency in the setup, configuration, and operation of Audio Precision test equipment.

• Experience using Audio Precision test equipment to measure and evaluate professional audio products.

• Experience with digital audio workstation (DAW) software and professional audio interfaces across multiple operating systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly document issues and findings using web-based issue tracking tools.

• Strong planning, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product development teams.

• Ability to lift, carry, assemble, and configure professional audio equipment in real-world testing environments.


Work Environment:

This engagement requires work with professional audio equipment in a lab and office setting. The role may involve lifting and setting up audio equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.


Work Authorization:  

Contractors must be legally authorized to provide services in the United States. LOUD Audio does not provide visa sponsorship or immigration support for this engagement.


Contract Term:

This is a temporary independent contractor engagement expected to last through August 31, 2026.


Compensation: 

This is a fixed-term independent contractor engagement compensated at $50-$55 USD per hour, depending on experience. As an independent contractor role, it is not eligible for company-sponsored benefits, paid time off, or other employee benefit programs. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licenses, and other business expenses unless otherwise specified in the contractor agreement.
