Job Overview:
As an Automotive Dispatcher/ Production Coordinator with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will play a critical role in our automotive shop, ensuring that every guest receives top-notch service and their vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. With your excellent communication and organizational skills, you are responsible for coordinating daily shop workflow, maximizing technician productivity, supporting service advisors, and ensuring vehicles move efficiently through the repair process. The Dispatcher serves as the communication bridge between the front office and the shop and plays a direct role in technician productivity, shop efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall production performance.
We are a high-volume, fast-paced automotive repair facility with multiple technicians, advisors, vendors, and competing priorities throughout the day. We’re looking for someone who thrives in that environment and can maintain professionalism, composure, and focus when things get busy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Dispatch repair orders to technicians based on skill level, availability, efficiency, and workload.
Coordinate workflow between Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts Suppliers, and Management. - Monitor vehicle progress and proactively address bottlenecks.
- Help maximize technician productivity and billed hours.
- Prioritize repairs based on customer needs, promised completion times, and shop capacity.
- Track workflow throughout the day and adjust priorities as needed.
- Assist with parts coordination and repair scheduling.
- Support quality control and vehicle delivery timelines.
- Maintain clear communication between the front office and the shop.
- Participate in daily production planning and workflow management.
- Help the team achieve weekly and monthly production goals.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Automotive industry experience
- Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with technicians, guest, and other team members to ensure that everyone is on the same page
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills: Dispatcher are responsible for coordinating multiple work orders, scheduling appointments, and managing paperwork. They must be highly organized to ensure that everything is completed accurately and on time
- Customer service skills: Must have strong customer service skills to answer customer inquiries, address concerns, and ensure that customers are satisfied with the work that is performed on their vehicles
- Proficient in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications
- Previous experience in an Automotive Sales, Advisor/Writer, or Estimator/Dispatcher position preferred
- Strong understanding of automotive repair operations and shop workflow
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Preferred - Experience with Tekmetric, AutoFlow, and PartsTech is highly preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Being dependable and reliable for a position that is scheduled for Monday – Friday, 7am – 6pm
- Being on your feet the majority of the workday (standing, walking, coordinating parts, etc.)
- Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
- Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
