OVERVIEW
The Personal Trainer provides targeted training to help Members achieve lifestyle changes and fitness goals, including preparing for events or maintaining peak performance. They contribute to the fitness programs at WAC, focusing on planning, coaching, and motivating Members.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Offer personalized training services, collaborating with Members and sometimes physicians to set goals and provide ongoing support
· Design and test fitness programs tailored to Member needs, focusing on areas like free weights, strength training, nutrition, and more
· Lead fitness sessions, oversee facility operations, address Member concerns, and contribute to program development
· Ensure adherence to safety guidelines, handle emergencies, and actively seeks feedback to enhance programs
· Support Coed Fitness desk team members between training sessions
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· A minimum of one (1) year experience in professional fitness and conditioning instruction
· Bachelor's degree in a related field or ACSM, NSCA, NASM certification
· Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
Pay and Benefits
· Pay range: $42.50/training hour

The Personal Trainer at the Washington Athletic Club is responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized fitness programming and training services while providing an exceptional member experience within a private club environment. This role includes conducting fitness assessments, designing and implementing personalized exercise programs, leading one-on-one and small group training sessions, and tracking client progress. The trainer is also responsible for onboarding new members through fitness orientations, introducing them to equipment and services, and supporting their integration into the club. When not actively conducting training sessions, the Personal Trainer serves as the primary point of contact for EGYM operations, overseeing usage, guiding members through assessments and program setup, ensuring safety and proper technique, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the area, and assisting with basic troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities include building strong member relationships, promoting personal training services, supporting member retention, and adhering to all club policies and procedures.
