About the Job 

As Quarry Superintendent, you’ll lead day-to-day operations at our Severn Quarry. You’ll supervise a large team, coordinate maintenance programs, and ensure that safety, environmental compliance, and production goals are consistently met. Your leadership will be key in maintaining efficiency, fostering a positive team culture, and upholding our commitment to community and regulatory engagement. The salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000 based on qualifications and experience.

 

What You’ll Be Doing  

  • Lead and supervise daily operations at a large-scale aggregate and quarry site 

  • Manage and mentor a team of 40+ employees, overseeing hiring, training, reviews, and workforce planning 

  • Schedule and execute maintenance for stationary and mobile equipment to minimize downtime 

  • Oversee drilling and blasting operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards 

  • Identify and procure equipment, materials, and tools to maintain continuous, efficient operations 

  • Develop and manage both short- and long-term extraction plans and financial budgets 

  • Liaise with ministries and regulatory bodies (MOL, MNR, MOE) and maintain all required documentation 

  • Represent the company at community events and maintain strong public and stakeholder relationships 

 

Here’s What You Need 

  • High school diploma plus a 3-year college diploma (CET, Operations Management, or Business) 

  • Valid G-Class Ontario driver’s license in good standing 

  • 5–7 years in aggregate, quarry, or related operations, including supervisory responsibilities 

  • Proven ability to lead a large crew, manage shift rotations, and work with subcontractors 

  • Hands-on experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and high-volume production (2 million tons/year) 

  • Technical Knowledge: 

  • Familiarity with site plans and KPI reporting 

  • Experience with drilling and blasting (an asset) 

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and WHMIS
