About the Role

Description

New Horizons is the largest mental health and addiction recovery provider on the Treasure Coast (and beyond), serving 15,000 children and adults annually through inpatient crisis services, 24-hour help line and mobile response team, and outpatient programs conveniently located across Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. In addition, New Horizons assists 22,000 students in area schools, and we work closely with the courts, law enforcement, jails, and hospitals to help improve the health of individuals and the quality of life in our community.


We are seeking a caring and compassionate individual to provide treatment and service coordination for clients in our Adult and Children's Inpatient Units. 


We are hiring for BOTH Adult and Children Units. Full-Time Position! 


As a Master's Level, Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide individual, family and group therapy and assessments, as well as coordinate effective discharge and follow-up care.



As a Master's Level Mental Health Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducts psychosocial evaluations for new and existing clients
  • Develops and maintains a written treatment plan for each client
  • Conducts individual and multi-client therapy activities
  • Leads and participates with team members in appropriate treatment interventions
  • Conducts education, lecture and group discussions with clients and family members
  • Coordinates written assignments and individual gal setting activities with clients
  • Coordinates and participates in weekly treatment team meetings
  • Ensures that appropriate discharge planning and aftercare services are provided for assigned clients
  • Prepares written documentation for each service conducted
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling is required
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with Adults/ children/adolescents
  • Must be able to apply therapeutic effective aggression management techniques without limitations
