Responsibilities

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST) Team Leader coordinates the pre-analytical and post analytical phases of laboratory specimens for testing which includes collection, registration, ordering, processing, delivery, and reporting of laboratory specimens. In addition the LST Team Leader evaluates specimen acceptability and responds to requests for information from customers. This position serves in the Laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. This position contributes directly to patient care by coordinating the team for accurately and timely processing specimens and dispersing information both in and outside the Laboratory. 

Qualifications

  High school diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy experience required. Training as a unit clerk, medical assistant, medical secretary is preferred.  Coursework in biology and/or chemistry is considered.   Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English
