About the Role

Summary:

A patient access representative is responsible for helping patients gain access to medical treatment within Osceola Medical Center. The patient access representative is responsible for answering incoming calls to the organization and meeting the needs of the patient.  The patient access representative performs all duties associated with efficient and complete scheduling and registration of all patients requiring services in the clinic, outpatient areas, emergency room and inpatient unit. 

The patient access representative provides a cheerful, approachable presence demonstrating outstanding customer service within the facility while completing daily tasks efficiently and accurately. Representatives adhere to the strictest confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.  They are responsible to greet patients in a prompt and polite manner, gather pertinent data to complete registration tasks and ensure efficient patient flow. 

The patient access representative will be cross-trained in all areas of patient access including scheduling, registration and switchboard to ensure versatility and proper coverage.

Typical Schedule:

This is a casual position with typical daytime hours 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED/HSED
  • Strong customer services skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Positive attitude
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in patient access is a plus
