The Program Supervisor supports the Program Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations within the residential treatment program. This role supervises Clinical Assistants, ensures delivery of high-quality direct care, and upholds facility safety, program policies, and therapeutic structure. The Program Supervisor supports all aspects of client care, staff development, and facility operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Client Care Oversight
- Assist the Program Supervisor in managing residential program operations and client services.
- Ensure program policies and procedures are followed and implemented consistently.
- Prioritize client safety and guide staff in effective crisis prevention and management.
- Support implementation of core company beliefs across all aspects of client care.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and support Clinical Assistants from onboarding through ongoing employment.
- Maintain accurate training documents and ensure all required competencies are met.
- Assist in hiring, performance evaluations, and retention strategies for direct care staff.
- Provide on-shift leadership, hands-on coaching, and modeling of youth-sensitive care.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure proper maintenance of client charts, medication records, and timely service notes.
- Oversee accurate completion of intake and discharge documentation.
- Track weekly house duties performed by staff and ensure compliance.
Program Scheduling & Operations
- Maintain program and staff schedules in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Oversee facility care and general maintenance requirements.
- Organize and support client intakes and discharges as needed.
- Fully engage in shift flow, groups, and daily programming to support the milieu.
Schedule & On-Call Responsibilities
- On-site 5 days per week.
- Work one weekend day on-site to provide leadership and shift support.
- Participate in the weekend on-call rotation, including finding coverage for call-outs.
- Share weekday on-call duties with the Program Supervisor to support staff, clients, and program needs.
Training Responsibilities
- Train new therapists and Clinical Assistants on intake/discharge process.
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and oversight of Clinical Assistants.
House & Milieu Duties
- Ensure consistent flow of shift operations and smooth handoffs.
- Lead crisis management when Program Supervisor is not present.
- Support Program Director in parent updates and family communication.
- Be fully present during groups and client activities for supervision and staff development.
Education
- Combination of education and experience considered.
- Minimum 2 years of youth service experience (adolescents, young adults, or families).
- Residential, IOP, or behavioral health experience preferred.
