About the Role

Description

JOB SUMMARY: It is the responsibility of this position to perform inspections on welded products and structures that are in progress and on completed jobs. The purpose of the Quality Control Inspector is to ensure that all GasTech products meet or exceed the Customer’s expectations. Further, it is a requirement of this position to be fully conversant with welding processes to ensure welded products are free of defects. It is the goal of the position to establish GasTech as the most highly respected process equipment supplier in the markets, and for the clients we serve.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Accurately perform and document quality inspections.

· Ensure that products conform to the applicable drawings, codes, and specifications.

· Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.

· Ensure all WIP processes comply with ASME code and QMS requirements.

· Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment.

· Accurately follow and record Inspection Test Plan data.

· Professionally assist NDE Technicians, Authorized Inspectors, and TPIs.

· Assist in creating and assembling Job Books and organization of MTR’s and drawings.

· Perform NDE when required.

· Create U-1A forms in an EDT system.

· Verify incoming products received meet dimensional and material requirements.

· Assist in implementing ISO 9001, internal auditing, and other process initiatives.

· Organize and clean all work areas and assist with 5S activities.

· Direct restocking of products/chemicals used in NDE processes.

· Prepare written requests for contracted NDE, identify welds for technicians.

· Organize RT film, repair documents, and track defects.

· Prepare in advance for scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· At least a high school diploma or GED is required.

· A minimum of 18 months of previous inspection experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required.

· Two years in a related technical program is preferred but not required.

· The ability to proficiently use precision measurement tools and gages, including paint inspection tools, is required.

· The ability to perform layout and fitting inspections to blueprints and P&ID’s is required.

· The ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality is required.

· The ability to remain organized with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment is required.

· The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines utilizing excellent time management skills is required.

· Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are required.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, etc. is required.

· Previous experience in an ISO 9001 environment is preferred but not required.
