About the Role
We are looking for a Primary School English Teacher teacher for an international school based in Shanghai. This position is available from the upcoming 2026/27 academic year in August 2026.
About the school
Situated in the bustling metropolitan of Shanghai, China, this bilingual school resides in the Pudong district and is spread across a terrain of 35,000 m2. It comprises of a kindergarten, primary, middle and high school divisions. The school offers courses that are based on the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) programs with the English language being the medium of instruction.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach English to primary school students around 22-24 periods (35 minutes long) a week and following a very structured curriculum which contains grammar, phonics, reading comprehension, and writing
- Design a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Maintain lesson plans, semester plans and notes on learning and goals
- Maintain an actively engaged classroom environment. Assess and document student work
- Instruct and assess students and parents about student performance and behavior. Participate in parent teacher conferences as necessary
- Write individualized advisee conference notes and student reports for each student at required periods during the year
- Attend and support after-school activities and programs. (e.g. theater and class program)
- Co-teach with local English teachers and work collaboratively with other colleagues in the Middle School and across division
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English or related, Master's preferred
- TESOL/TEFOL required
- Excellent English communication skills
- Teaching Credentials from respectable universities preferred
Salary and benefits
- Monthly salary of 22,000 to 28,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications
