Job Shift: Day

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Nurse to join our surgical team. We only operate Monday - Friday (Day Shift).  The OR Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality perioperative care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting surgeons and surgical staff throughout procedures. This position requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments according to procedure requirements
  • Conduct preoperative assessments and verify patient identity, consent, and surgical site
  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and monitoring patient vitals
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and other team members to ensure seamless care
  • Monitor patients postoperatively and provide recovery support as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and unexpected situations during surgery
  • Day shift with occasional night/weekend on-call.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Minimum of two (2) years' operating room experience. 

Strong knowledge of surgical procedures.

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

 

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION

Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Texas or compact equivalent. 

BLS/ACLS Required.
