About the Role

Instructor, Centre of Oncological Research in Surgery (COORS)

Introduction:

Centre of Oncological Research in Surgery (COORS) intends to build a culture of innovation and collaboration that will drive research breakthroughs and be capable of changing approaches to cancer prevention, screening, and treatment; in the process, it will improve the lives of cancer survivors. The main core focus areas of COORS are: advancing basic science research in cancer; organizing and conducting epidemiological and population-based research and initiating clinical trials in surgical oncology and related area.

CRM is inviting applications for the position of Instructor from outstanding and ambitious candidates.

Responsibilities:

An Instructor will serve in areas of research, education, scholarship, funding applications, health and safety, ethics, and other duties. Professors will report to the Director, COORS to:

 

·       Collaborative Research: Design and lead interdisciplinary research projects, fostering teamwork and innovation within the academic community.

·       Grant Acquisition: Identify funding opportunities, maintain relationships with programme officers, and develop competitive grant proposals with clear methodologies and objectives.

·       Research Execution: Conduct robust data collection and analysis while adhering to ethical guidelines and ensuring research integrity.

·       Publications: Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals, present findings at conferences, and contribute to the institution’s academic reputation.

·       Faculty Support: Assist senior faculty with research tasks, mentor junior researchers, and enhance the institution’s research capacity through workshops and training.

·       Mentor students and trainees to develop research projects, write papers, and prepare presentations, fostering academic and professional growth.

·       Participate in teaching workshops to enhance educational skills and contribute to the overall improvement of teaching practices.

·       Guide students and trainees in understanding academic and research norms, including writing feedback and sharing insights on academic performance.

·       Collaborate with faculty to support teaching-related administrative tasks, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and standards.

·       Participate in meetings and stakeholder sessions as assigned.

·       Engage in professional development programs and activities in consultation with the supervisor.

·       Manage teaching-related activities for other programs.

·       Maintain records of materials used in assignments.

·       Fulfill additional assignments as directed by the Chair, BBS.



Requirements:

Applicants must:

         MBBS or PHARM-D with at least one year of postgraduate experience and some research/teaching experience;

         Good research experience

         Ability to initiate and conduct research independently

         Ability to write manuscripts of International PubMed Journals

         Evidence of significant publication in international PubMed journals

         Strong teaching skills with knowledge of modern methodologies.

         Fluency in English & Urdu (regional language proficiency is an advantage).

         Familiarity with research methodologies and academic writing.

         Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

         Proficient in computer software relevant to the role.
