The Center for Emergency Medicine - Ambulance and Chair is looking to hire both Full-Time and Part-Time Advanced/AEMTs.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-Time and Part-Time available
  • All shift modalities: 24-hour, 16-hour, 12-hour, and 8-hour shifts available
  • Schedule posted 30 days in advance
  • Call volume split between primarily 911 emergency response dominant and non-emergency transports
  • Coverage area ranges from urban to rural environments

Ambulance and Chair is a long-standing EMS provider with deep roots in the communities that we serve. Covering a diverse urban-to-rural response area, our team answers an average of 40,000 calls annually across 45 communities in Washington and Greene Counties, providing both 911 emergency response and non-emergency medical transport.

Position Summary

The AEMT provides advanced prehospital emergency medical care in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, UPMC medical command protocols, and Ambulance and Chair policies. The AEMT functions as a key clinical provider, delivering interventions while supporting high-quality patient care across 911 and non-emergency responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to 911 and non-emergency calls in a safe, timely, and professional manner
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver care within the PA AEMT scope of practice
  • Initiate and manage vascular access, including IV therapy, as authorized
  • Administer approved medications per protocol and medical command direction
  • Assist with airway management and advanced respiratory support
  • Operate ambulances and emergency equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Accurately complete electronic patient care reports
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, dispatch, hospital, ALS provides, and partner agencies
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to EMT-Basics when appropriate
  • Maintain readiness of vehicles, equipment, and supplies
  • Participate in continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and research opportunities


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Pennsylvania Advanced EMT certification
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Current BLS, PHTLS/ITLS card
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certificate
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including lifting and moving patients
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situations

Clearances must be dated within 90 days:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior EMS experience
  • Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systems
  • Interest in mentorship, education, or service development initiatives
