Senior Engineering Manager, Robotics

Overview
We are looking for a hands-on technical leader to head our Intelligent Audio & Video (IAV) engineering team in Athens. This team drives the control and orchestration layer and collaborates on robotic perception that powers Room Awareness and multi-camera/multi-audio automation inside the Q-SYS Vision Suite.
As Senior Engineering Manager, Robotics, you will lead a group of 5–6 engineers, while remaining deeply technical yourself. You will own the architecture and delivery of the next generation of Vision Suite, optimized for multi-room setups, advanced room awareness, and orchestration across multiple cameras and microphones. You will also spearhead the development of a lightweight VisionSuite designed to run efficiently on small Q-SYS Core processors.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of intelligent AV, bridging robotics perception and control with professional audio/video systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 5–6 engineers, fostering technical excellence, collaboration, and growth.
- Evolve our architecture to support multi-room setups, optimizing room awareness and control logic across diverse spaces.
- Drive multi-camera and multi-audio device orchestration, including PTU control, active speaker tracking, and seamless switching.
- Deliver a lightweight, resource-optimized version of VisionSuite for deployment on smaller Q-SYS Core processors.
- Design, prototype, and review code in C++ and Python, focusing on real-time systems, robotics perception, and control pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with UI, ML, Audio & Video and Platform teams, integrating their outputs into a cohesive IAV system.
- Work with product management and system architects to align technical direction with product roadmap.
- Champion engineering best practices (testing, CI/CD, performance tuning) for robust, production-ready releases.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior/Principal Engineer or Technical Lead in a software engineering role.
- Strong hands-on skills in C++ and Python, with experience in distributed or embedded real-time architectures.
- Deep understanding of system architecture and performance optimization for resource-constrained environments.
- Track record of leading a team (5+ engineers), mentoring, and driving delivery while remaining technically hands-on.
- Excellent problem-solving and system design skills, with a bias for practical, scalable solutions.
- Strong communication skills; able to bridge between product vision, system design, and implementation.
Nice To Have
- Experience with AV&C systems, Q-SYS, or professional audio/video environments.
- Familiarity with networked media protocols (AES67, Dante, NDI, etc.).
- Exposure to PTZ control systems or mechatronics.
- Previous work with room awareness, spatial analytics, or multi-device orchestration.
- Interest in robotics control, multi-sensor fusion, or room/device orchestration (ROS experience a plus).
