About the Role

Description

The Store Associate provides excellent customer service and supports daily retail operations in a

dynamic, visitor-focused environment. This role helps ensure that guests have a positive shopping experience while

contributing to the overall success of the store through strong sales and attention to detail.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist visitors in selecting merchandise that meets their interests or needs
  • Provide product information and handle transactions accurately at the point of sale
  • Maintain an inviting, well-organized, and fully stocked sales floor
  • Support merchandising and display efforts that reflect the store’s themes and seasonal promotions
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Participate in inventory management, restocking, and receiving new products
  • May occasionally be required to assist with special events
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education / Experience:

  • 2+ years of retail and customer service experience preferred

Required Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to work weekends or holidays as needed
  • Comfortable operating a point of sale (POS) system and handling cash transactions
  • Detail-oriented with an interest in sharing knowledge about company-specific products

Technical Skills:

  • PC Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Travel Requirements:

  • Reliable means of transportation
  • This role is based in San Francisco, but may require work in Marin County occasionally. Transportation to Marin can be arranged by the Company if desired

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to use keyboard/mouse up to 8 hours per day
  • Approximately 85% of the workday is spent on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • This role involves frequent physical activity—bending, lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, and walking—for about 75% of the day
  • Repetitive tasks primarily involve computer use

 

Benefits

  • Expected compensation for the role is $22-25/hr
  • Other benefits may be available depending on employment status
