Your Purpose as an Assistant Service Manager:
As an Assistant Service Manager, you will be responsible for helping support the Service Manager through leading service team members to ensure service processes and guest expectations are being met. The Assistant Service Manager will have the ability to lead multi-level service team members through high levels of expectations, energy, positive attitude, and passion for excellence in creating a delightful employee and guest experience.
In your role as Assistant Service Manager:
- Provides leadership through developing and coaching assigned service personnel.
- Assists the Service Manager in leading the service department’s daily operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and guest experience.
- Collaborates with the service team to ensure timely and accurate completion of service orders and repairs.
- Provides support in handling inquiries, guest concerns, and escalations, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Assists in maintaining accurate service records, including guest information, service history, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Helps monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies, ensuring availability to support timely repair orders.
- Assists in training and mentoring service department staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaborates with other departments across the total store to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Stays updated on industry trends, new technologies, and service procedures to support the delivery of exceptional guest service.
- Assists in implementing and maintaining service department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Supports the Service Manager in analyzing service department performance metrics and implementing improvement strategies.
- Conducts regular check-ins with employees to discuss performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and set goals.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and provides training to service staff on manufacturer warranty policies.
- Effectively and timely addresses guest complaints and feedback to support the highest possible CSI ratings.
- Ensures assigned service employees understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations, including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA requirements.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle
- Service manager and/or Service Advisor experience preferred
- Technical certification preferred
- Experience leading and/or developing teams preferred
