Payment Posting Specialist

Description

The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts in accordance with current policies and procedures. The position requires thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry, the ability to work in a team environment, strict deadlines, and excellent attention to detail. This is a full-time position and is based out of our corporate office in Boca Raton, FL

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for posting of all insurance and patient payments via electronic remittance (ERA), hard copies, and payer websites 
• Reconciles monies posted according to departmental operational procedures to ensure daily balances of amounts posted
• Identify accounts that need to be refunded
• Process credit card payments
• Run and analyze balancing reports to ensure accurate posting
• Balance all companies weekly and meet month-end closing deadlines
• Run month-end close reports
• Commits to providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism, while working in a team environment to meet goals
• Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Understands and complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations
• Assist billing as needed: demographic entry, charge posting
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of RCM

Requirements

• 1-2 years of posting experience in a health care environment required
• Experience working with online payer resources
• Accounts Receivable knowledge/experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail, goal-oriented
• Commitment to excellent customer service
• Ability to ensure that all postings are accurate and posted in a timely manner before the end of the month close
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Positive attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Excel
• eClinical Works a plus
