About the Role

Description

 Are you a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking to make a real difference in a community-focused healthcare environment? Pine Ridge Hospital, an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility serving the Oglala Sioux Tribe, is seeking a dedicated Outpatient Clinic LPN to join our team and provide high-quality care to patients of all ages. As a Contract LPN/LVN, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality outpatient care in a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment.


Position Details

  • Schedule: Regular Schedule – 40 hours per week 
  • Clinic Hours: Sunday–Friday, 8 AM–8:30 PM 
    • Day Shift: 0800–1630 (8 hours) 
    • Extended Day: 0830–1900 (10 hours) 
    • Evening Shift: 1030–1900 (8 hours) 
    • Sunday Clinic: 1000–1830 (8 hours) 
    • Holiday Clinic: 1000–1830 (8 hours) 
  • Contract: Minimum 3 months, with extension options 
  • Shifts: 8 eight-hour shifts or 10 ten-hour shifts per pay period 
  • Lunch: 30-minute unpaid lunch required  
  • Flexibility Required: Schedule maintained and adjusted by the Department Nurse Supervisor 
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Holiday Pay 

Clinical Setting

  • Family Medicine / Maternity / Pediatrics / Outpatient Clinic 
  • Clinic is closed on weekends and holidays 
  • Services may include general medical, pediatric, prenatal, and geriatric care 

Duties

  • Assist with patient intake, vital signs, and basic assessments 
  • Administer medications and treatments under provider direction 
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes 
  • Support physicians, RNs, and interdisciplinary teams 
  • Provide patient and family education 
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation 
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives 
  • Perform outpatient nursing procedures as required

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) –

  • Minimum of (2) two years experience required as an RN
  • RN Nursing experience in an Acute Care Setting required
  • Graduated from a National League of Nursing Accredited Nursing Program
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Diploma from an accredited professional nursing education program as an RN is required.
  • Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Required, PALS preferred
  • Applicant must have active and unrestricted, current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in any State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be willing to pass a federal background check
