Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician - Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida

Position Overview

BayCare Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon to join our esteemed team of three Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgeons and four advanced practice providers. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, including performing complex procedures, managing pre-operative and post-operative care, and contributing to our multidisciplinary approach to patient treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a wide range of cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve repair/replacement, and lung resections.
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and determine appropriate surgical interventions.
• Manage and oversee post-operative recovery, including patient monitoring and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, pulmonologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of surgical techniques and treatments.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency surgical procedures as required.

Qualifications

• Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board Certification in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
  • Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship program in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
  • Valid medical license in Florida or eligibility for licensure.
  • Proven experience in performing complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Commitment to high standards of patient care and safety.
