Behavior Technician Serving Individuals with Autism (In-Home ABA Services)

We are Silicon Valley ABA (SVABA), a dedicated agency providing high-quality, individualized support to children and young adults with autism. Our team works directly in clients’ homes and in the community, helping them build communication, social, and daily-living skills through evidence-based behavioral strategies. Position: Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®)

Employment Type: Part-time (minimum of 15 hours per week) or full-time (30+ hours per week) paid hourly

Schedule: Flexible, afternoon/evening availability preferred. You tell us when you are available and we will schedule you!

Location: SVABA has 2 Regions: You choose your preferred region: Morgan Hill/Gilroy/Hollister OR San Jose/Milpitas/Santa Clara

Pay Rate: Starting $21-$25 per hour


BECOME A REGISTERED BEHAVIOR TECHNICIAN IN 3 MONTHS! WE WILL PROVIDE THE TRAINING AND THE SELF-PACED COURSEWORK!

What You’ll Do

  • Receive initial and regular, ongoing training and support
  • Provide 1:1 behavioral support to individuals with autism in their home, school, or community environment
  • Implement treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® (BCBA®)
  • Teach communication, social, and adaptive skills using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
  • Collect data and document session notes
  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure high-quality, consistent support
  • Communicate professionally with families, other professionals, and team members

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • A compassionate, patient, and reliable person who enjoys working with children and young adults
  • A quick learner, able to implement treatment plans developed by the BCBA
  • An adaptable person able to get on the floor and play silly sensory games with young learners, but also able to act as a mentor to have adult-like conversations with learners who have more advanced programming
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn, ask questions, seek clarity, and demonstrate curiosity
  • Ability to work independently in the home, school, and community settings
  • At least a High school diploma required; some college or related experience preferred (18 years or older)
  • Must pass background check
  • Reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with infants/toddlers
  • Frequent speaking and listening to clients, staff, and other professionals in meetings and on the phone
  • Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting, and using upper and lower limbs to drive car to and from home visits and meetings
  • Occasional sitting and maintaining close visual attention to write reports and work at the computer
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials used in home visits
