Position Overview

Epic Pain Management is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Sedation to support our Stone Oak location clinic, with occasional coverage at other Epic clinics within San Antonio as needed.

This role is responsible for administering and monitoring moderate sedation, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures, and supporting physicians and clinical teams in a fast-paced procedural setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor moderate sedation for interventional pain management procedures
• Perform IV insertion and manage IV therapies
• Conduct thorough pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient assessments
• Monitor patient vitals and recovery, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient safety and comfort
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation

Requirements

Education

• Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a procedural, critical care, or acute care setting
• Preferred: Experience in peri-anesthesia, PACU, ER, ICU, interventional radiology, or GI lab
• Preferred: Completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training program

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligible)
• Required:
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) at time of hire
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• Preferred Certifications:
  • CNOR (Surgery)
  • CPAN (Post-Anesthesia)
  • SGNA (GI Lab)

Qualifications

• Strong IV and sedation-related clinical skills
• Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and patient monitoring abilities
• Clear, compassionate communication skills with patients and care teams
• Ability to adapt to multiple clinic environments while maintaining consistent standards of care
