About The Company
The REJIS Commission is a government enterprise entity created to “serve the public interest through delivering quality, cost-effective technology services to the justice community and to government and quasi-government agencies.” REJIS’ primary focus is to provide record management services to law enforcement, courts, and corrections agencies at the local, state and federal levels. REJIS was founded in 1974 under a cooperative agreement between St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis. Primarily concentrated in the metropolitan St. Louis and Kansas City areas, we service criminal justice agencies in Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. REJIS services include: • Development of custom applications • Installation and support of custom and commercially available software • Custom interfaces • IT Support Service • Data center outsourcing • Network, training and help desk support. REJIS has approximately 140 employees located at three sites. Most of the staff and equipment are based at the REJIS building, in the Central West End of St. Louis.

Our REJIS Operations Center (ROC) team works in our state-of-the art facility which provides a secure location for REJIS and customer equipment and data. Our Computer Operators successfully monitor the availability of REJIS-supported services and equipment and effectively manage the communications and proper support escalations to ensure high service availability. 


We are an essential business supporting law enforcement and local St. Louis organizations with critical infrastructures that require availability and monitoring 24X7.

This position requires a physical presence, on-site in our data center. The schedule is a 12-hour shift on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and a ½ day (6-hour shift) on Wednesday, with 3+ weeks’ vacation. This is a swing shift position and will alternate between day and night shifts. 


Overview of skills needed:

  • Display strong technical aptitude and have a strong desire for a career in IT and/or technology
  • Exceptional customer service skills are required. Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and prepare well-written documentation
  • Experience using Microsoft operating systems and office products is a plus
  • Have a willingness and ability to learn quickly 


Responsibilities:

We provide training covering the technology and business processes for this position to: 

  • Maintain a reliable service environment by responding to Network and Data Center alerts
  • Learn and follow standard operating procedures, documenting, and responding to alerts, including the escalation of support staff
  • Physical Tasks/Demands: sitting - stationary/seated position during the work day in order to monitor system monitors
  • Be able to escort visitors within our Data Center and walk the Data Center and REJIS campus during the shift in order to conduct hands-on and/or visual assessments to ensure building safety compliance by checking doors and/or checking the temperature in various areas of the server room/data center 
  • Lifting - periodically lifts light-weight items such as equipment, parts, computer, and server hardware
  • Perform new computer software installs, server patching, and remote system administration
  • Resolve desktop, printer, Internet Browser, REJIS application, and network-related issues
  • Reset passwords using Active Directory
  • Display ability to troubleshoot user/system problems and perform proper support escalation
  • Properly record and classify customer and internal requests
  • Communicate to customers and REJIS management problems requiring their immediate attention

Requirements

  • Acceptable experience can include self-study, technical school, or work experience
  • Previous customer-service work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities that are time-sensitive

The minimum salary starts at $18.96/hour with the possibility of additional compensation based on years of experience, demonstrated skills, certifications, and education. This is an hourly position and is eligible for overtime.
