Discipleship Pathway Coach

The Discipleship Pathway Coach serves as a spiritual guide and mentor for new and developing church members, helping them discern and navigate a personalized learning and formation pathway. This role provides relational support, accountability, and encouragement as individuals engage in church courses, classes, and formation experiences. Coaches walk alongside participants from course selection through completion and help facilitate next steps in their discipleship journey.

Anticipated Time Commitments:
1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: 1–3 hours per participant per course cycle, including meetings, check-ins, and follow-up
2. Participating in meetings/training: Flexible and seasonal, aligned with course schedules
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Meet with new or existing members to assess spiritual goals, interests, and readiness.
- Recommend appropriate learning tracks or courses aligned with the church’s discipleship pathway.
- Clearly explain course expectations, schedules, and progression requirements.
- Maintain periodic check-ins (in person, phone, or virtual) throughout the course duration.
- Encourage consistency, spiritual reflection, and personal application of learning.
- Identify challenges or barriers to participation and provide support or appropriate referrals.
- Track participant engagement and completion of assigned courses.
- Celebrate milestones and successful course completions.
- Assist participants with enrollment into next recommended courses or formation opportunities.
- Offer prayer, biblical encouragement, and spiritual insight within the scope of discipleship training.
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and refer individuals to pastoral staff or counseling ministries when necessary.
- Model Christ-centered leadership, humility, and spiritual maturity at all times.
- Communicate relevant participant updates with ministry leaders as appropriate.
- Participate in ongoing training, meetings, and spiritual development opportunities for coaches.
- Uphold church policies, confidentiality standards, and discipleship values.
