Job Description
As a Credit Quantitative Risk Analyst, you will play a vital role in analysing credit data, developing credit models, and supporting credit risk management processes.Your responsibilities will involve quantitative analysis, risk modelling, and providing insights to optimise lending practices. You’ll work closely with senior analysts and contribute to the bank’s credit risk assessment.
KEY RESULT AREAS
Credit Risk Modelling and Analysis
- Assist in developing and maintaining credit risk models such as impairment and regulatory type models, scorecards and Stress Testing.
- Analyse historical credit data or alternative credit data to identify patterns and risk factors.
- Use statistical techniques to predict credit risk.
- Assist in designing and developing Credit Monitoring and Credit Reporting Capabilities to be embedded within the credit platform.
- Assist with the interpretation of credit monitoring and credit reports.
Data Preparation and Feature Engineering
- Clean and preprocess raw credit data.
- Create relevant features for credit risk modelling.
- Sourcing, consolidating and analysing large data sets, utilizing strong programming skills and identifying anomalies/trends.
Model Risk Management and Performance Monitoring
- Adhere to the Model Risk lifecycle standards and processes.
- Monitor the credit performance on the portfolios, tracking key metrics such as credit loss, NPL ratios, roll rates and market benchmarks.
- Identify opportunities to streamline credit processes through automation, standardization, and optimization of workflows.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders, including IT, Front end, Collections, Operations, Finance and other Risk & Business teamsTranslate technical findings into actionable insights.
- Present analysis results to senior management.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or related fields.
- 2 - 4 years' experience in Banking.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience developing credit risk models and/or quantitative analytics.
- Regulatory Capital and IFRS 9 experience
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., SAS, Python) is advantageous.
