Endocrinologist - St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, FL

Position Overview
BayCare Medical Group, the leading physician-led medical group in the Tampa area, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Endocrinologist to join our expanding team at the BayCare Specialty Clinic located within St. Joseph’s Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-impact care in a high-demand environment, with a primary focus on diabetes management and chronic endocrine conditions. This team includes an endocrinologist, APRN, and clinical pharmacist who work closely with BayCare Pharmacy to coordinate care and ensure medication delivery.
About the Pharmacy Specialty Clinic:The Pharmacy Specialty Clinic is a hospital-based initiative designed to improve access to care and eliminate barriers to essential medications. It serves BayCare team members and their adult dependents with diabetes who are on specific medications. The clinic provides free appointments, medications, supplies, durable medical equipment (DME), diabetes education, and counseling, all aimed at improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care and education to patients with diabetes, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
- Manage a high patient volume while delivering compassionate and evidence-based care, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Work closely with APRN, Rheumatology physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement coordinated care plans.
- Partner with the Pharmacy Specialty Clinic to ensure patients receive coordinated access to free medications, DME, and education.
- Support the expansion of endocrinology services through community outreach and ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in endocrinology and diabetes care.
Qualifications
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Current or eligible Florida medical license
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and colleagues.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality of care.
- Dedication to providing exceptional patient-centered care and a passion for improving the health and well-being of patients with endocrine disorders.
