Job Description
ServiceNow seeks an experienced and technical hands-on Solution Consultant to drive sales of our telecommunications network inventory solution. This role combines deep technical expertise in telecom infrastructure with consultative selling skills to help communication service providers transform their network operations through intelligent automation and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Technical Leadership
- Lead technical discovery sessions with telecommunications prospects to understand network inventory challenges, infrastructure complexity, and operational pain points
- Architect and present tailored solutions demonstrating how ServiceNow's network inventory capabilities address fiber management, tower infrastructure, cable plant documentation, and multi-vendor equipment tracking
- Conduct compelling product demonstrations showcasing network visualization, asset lifecycle management, and integration with OSS/BSS systems
- Where relevant, position Telco Service Operations Management for inventory accuracy and operational service assurance
- Develop proof of concepts and technical pilots that validate solution fit for complex telecom environments
Industry Expertise & Thought Leadership
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor on network inventory modernization, helping prospects envision the transformation from legacy systems to modern, cloud-based platforms
- Articulate the business value of unified network inventory including improved service fulfillment speed, reduced truck rolls, enhanced network planning, and regulatory compliance
- Stay current on telecommunications industry trends including 5G rollout challenges, fiber deployment strategies, and network infrastructure as code practices
Sales Collaboration & Deal Support
- Partner with Sales/Account Executives to qualify opportunities, develop account strategies, and advance complex sales cycles with major communication service providers
- Navigate telecom organizational structures including network operations, IT, engineering, and procurement teams to build consensus
- Respond to RFPs and RFIs with detailed technical proposals addressing telecom-specific requirements
- Provide competitive differentiation against legacy network inventory vendors and point solutions
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Telecommunications Experience
- 5+ years of experience in telecommunications industry with deep understanding of network infrastructure including outside plant, central office equipment, wireless infrastructure, and transport networks
- Hands-on knowledge of network inventory management challenges and systems used by communication service providers
- Familiarity with service assurance concepts for effective operational monitoring
- Familiarity with telecom industry standards and frameworks (TM Forum, ETSI, 3GPP)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of network architecture, topology management, and physical/logical inventory relationships
- Good experience with OSS/BSS systems integration and understanding of telecom service fulfillment workflows
- Good understanding of how AI/ML applies to Telecom operations.
- Knowledge of network planning, design, and capacity management processes
Solution Selling Expertise
- Proven track record in technical pre-sales or solution consulting roles with demonstrated success in complex B2B software sales
- Ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes and ROI for executive audiences
- Strong presentation skills with ability to engage audiences from engineers to C-level executives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceNow platform or other enterprise SaaS solutions
- Background in network engineering, telecom IT, or NOC/SOC operations
- Knowledge of APIs, data integration patterns, and modern software architectures
- Understanding of ITIL, ITSM, or IT operations management frameworks
- Experience selling to Tier 1, 2, or 3 communication service providers globally
Education
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience
Travel Requirements
This role requires up to 40% travel to customer sites, industry events, and ServiceNow offices
