Description

Educational Services Coordinator


The Educational Services Coordinator acts as a key communicator and collaborator between our external partners and internal departments, focusing on building relationships, ensuring smooth operations, resolving issues, and representing Unity’s service delivery.


Schedule:  This is a hybrid role with an eight-hour workday. Hours generally fall between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with flexibility in scheduling based on coordination with the leader. Admin/on call rotation 15-20 shifts/year, approximately, including weekend days. 1-2 holidays per year.


Job Duties:

  1. Serve as the first-line nursing reviewer for patient complaints, incidents, and quality concerns.
  2. Review documentation related to complaints for clinical accuracy, completeness, and adherence to policy.  
  3. Participate in root cause analyses and recommend clinically oriented corrective actions or process improvement. 
  4. Act as the primary representative of the Educational Services Department to external partners (i.e.: nursing schools, hospitals, clinics). 
  5. Gather feedback and?identify?emerging community education needs to shape future programming?in collaboration with interdisciplinary education team, Marketing, and Business Development. 
  6. Serve as the point of contact for internal and external inquiries regarding nursing standards and expectations. 
  7. Provide clarification to internal teams about external partners’ requirements (facility regulations or expectations). 
  8. Assist in troubleshooting communication breakdowns and workflow variations between facilities and collaborate with pertinent leaders to develop process improvement plans. 
  9. Identify gaps in care delivery and be solution driven to advocate for facility needs. 
  10. Collaborate with Unity primary teams and facility owners. 
  11. Evaluate current transitions-of-care processes and identify areas for improvement. (i.e., hospital, Meng, home, facility, etc.). 
  12. Educate internal and external partners on transition-of-care expectations. 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Electronic Medical Record, Scheduling System, and Outlook)
  • Highly motivated and organized with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills to help solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment. 
  • Ability to keep up to date with policies, evidence-based best practices, and regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and capable of dealing with deadline pressures.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.
  • Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 
  • Ability to adjust to frequently changing demands.
  • Participate in the Administrator On-Call rotation as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications & Certification/Licensure:

  1. Associate degree in Nursing required, bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
  2. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin required (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of Wisconsin). 
  3. Minimum of 5 years of RN relevant work experience.
  4. Minimum 3 years of leadership, coaching, project management, and execution.
  5. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance coverage.
