About the Role

Description

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations. Libertyville Physical and Occupation Therapy is seeking a rehab technician for immediate hire to work 35 hours per week.

  • Not currently looking for seasonal employees.
  • Previous tech experience preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting within IBJI's Rehab Services Division. As a rehab technician at IBJI, you’ll be a vital member of the orthopedic team, contributing to both clinical care and the overall success of the clinic using expertise in patient treatment and time management.


Rehabilitation Technicians are responsible for assisting clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life and function.

Job Summary

A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life.


Essential Duties

  1. Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  2. Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
  3. Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  4. Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  5. Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  6. Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  7. Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
  8. For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  9. Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  10. Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
  11. Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  12. Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  13. Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours. 16. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

  1. Minimal High school degree required
  2. This position is 40 hours per week.
  3. This is not a seasonal position.

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  2. Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
  3. Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  4. Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
