Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Dean of Students. Grounded in the inherent dignity of each person as made in the image and likeness of God, the Dean of Students addresses behaviors inside and outside the classroom through restorative practices that view consequences as opportunities for growth in holiness and self-mastery. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about consistently communicating Gospel values while honoring the dignity and potential of every student, even in moments of correction and accountability.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree; M.A. in Education, Theology, or related field preferred
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, or demonstrated commitment to and deep understanding of Catholic education and mission
- Minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school setting
- Prior leadership/supervision experience preferred
- Genuine love for working with youth and supporting their holistic development
- Knowledge of Catholic social teaching, virtue ethics, restorative justice practices, and positive behavioral interventions aligned with Gospel values
- Strong conflict resolution skills rooted in dignity, mercy, and justice
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to build productive relationships with faculty, students, and parents grounded in respect, charity, and a service-oriented approach
- Strong data management skills including use of SIS and Google Workspace
- Commitment to ongoing formation in Catholic educational leadership
Classification: Full-time, 12 months, Exempt. Evening and weekend work will be required to assist with special events, liturgies, some sport and service activities.

Requirements
Faith Formation & Student Culture:
- Model and promote Catholic identity throughout student life, integrating faith formation into discipline, activities, and daily interactions with opportunities for prayer, reflection, and service
- Maintain visible, active leadership presence in daily life of the school including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and breaks throughout the day
- Be present at community events, liturgies, sports, and school activities
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community that reflect Christian charity and support the school's spiritual formation mission
- Collaborate with Campus Ministry and Director of Student Activities to ensure student programming strengthens Catholic school culture
- Facilitate summer orientation in collaboration with Director of Student Activities
Discipline & Behavioral Management:
- Provide leadership of behavior management and supervision grounded in dignity of the human person
- Lead discipline system creation and implementation
- Facilitate the resolution of conflict using Gospel principles of reconciliation
- Confer with high school students, parents, and teachers regarding student-related policies, always seeking the good of the student and the community
- Collaborate with staff, administrators, and parents through student intervention processes with compassion and clarity
- Make uniform decisions and ensure consistent enforcement
- Partner with safety officer on school safety initiatives and protocols
- Organize and manage drug testing protocol
- Oversee the School Nurse and School Health Center
Student Support & Operations:
- Confer with students, parents, and teachers regarding policies and interventions with compassion and clarity
- Oversee School Nurse and Health Center
- Collaborate with Middle School Dean of Students, counseling staff, and athletics department to ensure developmentally appropriate support and supervision
- Manage attendance, discipline documentation, student supervision systems, and support structures (detention, Saturday school, restorative conferences)
- Organize and run after school detention
- Oversee website content and student handbook as related to student life
- Assist in crisis management planning and school safety requirements
- Compile and analyze disciplinary data for administration, including conducting an annual audit
