The Sports Management Intern is responsible for the successful development and operation in a variety of disciplines throughout Nook Sports. These disciplines may include, but are not limited to the scheduling and development of our complex programming, and operation of our Nook sports programs. This internship will run January-May with the possibility of starting early if available.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Nook Sports Directors with day to day operations
- Set-up and tear down of day to day programming as well as large tournaments and events
- Create informational paperwork for parents and players of Nook sports teams
- Schedule and review practices and clinics for sports teams
- Instruct and direct teams to the proper courts/fields during tournaments
- Respond to parent/guardian questions about Nook sports programs while on sit
- Assist with coordination of adult recreation leagues
- Learn scheduling system to book events, games and rentals
- All other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be current Senior or Junior at accredited institution in the field of Business, Sports Management, or related field.
- Ability to work 20 hours per week
- Must have dependable transportation to and from work
- Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills and guest services/customer service background
- Previous participation in athletics/clubs/school programs preferred
- Must be able to work under minimal supervision
- A positive and friendly attitude towards guest, customers, and fellow employees.
- Must be able to follow and explain directions both written and verbally
- High proficiency of a variety of technology and software programs
- Ability to safeguard confidential information
- Ability to remain calm in tense or stressful situations
Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work both indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions
- Physical requirements necessary include walking, standing, bending, and lifting
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
