Health Stealth Startup - VP R&D

Grid Health is a stealth-mode startup, recently funded by Team8, and founded by two successful second-time founders. Our mission is to revolutionize healthcare systems by building an orchestration layer for AI-powered solutions.

 What you’ll do: 

• Build and lead the company’s engineering function from the ground up, including hiring a core team, defining technical strategy, and executing on the MVP roadmap
• Own the company’s engineering vision and execution, focusing on building the MVP and achieving product-market fit within 12-18 months.
• Help build, deliver against, and design the company’s initial product roadmap.
• Work closely with design partners and prospective customers to ensure active engagement, synthesizing feedback to make necessary product changes and improvements.
• Be an integral part of our executive team. 

Requirements

Preferred Qualities:

• Startup experience with a strong drive to join a cutting-edge startup, redefining Healthcare AI infrastructure, and a passion for technology to build innovative, impactful products.
• Experienced with the complexities of modern healthcare tech: including legacy on-prem, HIPAA-compliant cloud, HL7/FHIR integrations, and massive data pipelines.
• Expertise in production AI/ML operations: monitoring, drift detection, and model observability in high-stakes environments where silent failures are unacceptable.
• Experience with audit and compliance infrastructure - systems designed for traceability and explainability, and for satisfying regulator/legal "show me everything" demands.
• Experience in with observability across complex environments - visibility into distributed systems, asset discovery, dependency mapping
• Approach engineering with an AI-native, data-driven mindset to analyze information and derive valuable insights.
• 7+ years of proven hands-on production-grade development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in managing high-performing engineering teams and delivering in Agile and Scrum methodologies. 
• Experience with scalable infrastructure and public clouds (AWS/ Azure / GCP).
• Experience implementing and managing DevOps practices and CI/CD architecture.
• Experience building products that revolve around data ingestion and analytics with strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline.
• Deep organization capabilities, especially regarding influence, collaboration, and communication.
• Experience with large-scale SaaS production services, databases, and Big Data.
