About the Role

Description

Position Summary:

  • Manages the daily operations of the assigned nutrition site/s.
  • Supervises assigned staff and volunteers in their roles.

Work Location: 1795 West 25th Street Cleveland, OH 44113

Work Hours: 8:30 am to 1:30 pm

Work Days: Monday - Friday

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Register new participants per the standards of the appropriate funder.
  • Responsible for all client management systems and the daily and monthly data entry functions.
  • Responsible for accepting food order, preparing and serving food according to WRAAA specifications.
  • Order meals, maintain food and supply inventories.
  • Assist in maintaining congregate and home delivered meal client files as required by funding source.
  • Assess/re-assess congregate and home delivered meal clients for eligibility, as assigned.
  • Responsible for congregate and home delivered meal reservation system.
  • Maintain record of volunteer hours for auditing.
  • Responsible for collecting and recording nutrition donations including bank deposits.
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/quarterly nutrition reports as required by funding source.
  • Provides orientation for participants in the meal program so they are aware of time, donation reservations system and nutrition guidelines.
  • Supervises Kitchen Aide.

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing meals.
  • May assist with activities for congregate participants.
  • Order supplies when needed.
  • Responsible for cleaning the kitchen area for safety and sanitary purposes.


Requirements

Qualifications: Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position including specific courses, training programs or required certifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with people of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Must take the Person in Charge Training Course and receive a PIC Certificate.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of computer programs (Microsoft Outlook and Office) and ability to learn the client management system.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, mathematical and electronic communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in routine documentation.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Previous Experience that is necessary to qualify for this position:

  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, reach, bend at the waist, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers.
  • Must be able to work in kitchen area with rising heated food temperatures.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting is required, up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Moderate noise environment.
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Ability to stand at least approximately three (3) hours per day.
  • Work environment is stressful at times.
