The Payroll Administrator is a fast paced position that is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, ensuring all payments are calculated in strict accordance with relevant Enterprise Agreements/ Modern Awards and Australian legislation. 

This role is fundamental to maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring the company’s payroll operations are compliant and efficient, across our variety of brands.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Accurately enter and verify employee payroll data into the SAP payroll system, ensuring correct hours, leave, allowances, deductions, superannuation and tax are accurately recorded for a large workforce of more than 30,000 team members.
  • Process all types of terminations, ensuring payments are timely, accurate and taxed appropriately.
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll administration of overpayments, including system entries, liaising with employees and issuing relevant documentation.
  • Serve as the second point of contact for employees regarding payroll questions, providing timely and clear responses to queries about payslip's, leave balances, and entitlements.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a dedicated payroll processing role, within Australia is essential.
  • Experience within retail, hospitality, or a similar high-volume industry is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Modern Awards is required, with specific experience with the GRIA or HIGA being highly desirable. Experience using T&A systems i.e. Tanda and Deputy, or UKG.
  • Intermediate Excel Skills - V lookups, pivot tables etc.
  • Proficiency in using computerised payroll systems (e.g. SAP Employee Central Payroll) and time & attendance software (e.g. UKG).
  • A demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • A high attention to detail with the ability to identify errors.
  • Exceptional numerical accuracy and a meticulous eye for detail are critical to ensure error-free payroll processing.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills for effectively handling employee inquiries.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet strict, non-negotiable deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
