The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides advanced, patient-centered nursing care to women, specializing in prenatal, childbirth, postpartum, and reproductive health. The CNM focuses on prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic care, working collaboratively with OB/GYN physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife, you’ll be an integral member of a forward-thinking clinical team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and service in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Certified Nurse Midwife Essential Functions:
- Conduct routine pre-natal visits, screenings, and assessments.
- Monitor maternal and fetal health and provide education on pregnancy, nutrition, and labor preparation.
- Provide postpartum care, including lactation support, recovery assessments, and family planning guidance.
- Perform routine exams, including Pap smears, breast exams, and contraceptive counseling.
- Manage common gynecologic conditions such as infections, menstrual disorders, and menopause care.
- Provide reproductive health counseling and family planning services.
- Counsel patients on wellness, preventive care, and reproductive health decisions.
- Offer guidance on prenatal classes, childbirth preparation, and breastfeeding.
- Work in partnership with OB/GYN physicians for patients with high-risk pregnancies or complex gynecologic conditions.
- Refer patients to specialists when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Comply with legal, ethical, and office standards of care.
- Participate in office quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts.
Certified Nurse Midwife Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prenatal, labor, delivery, postpartum, and gynecologic care
- Patient education, counseling, and culturally competent care
- Fetal monitoring and basic neonatal care
- Clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making
- Collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams
- Accurate documentation and knowledge of legal/ethical standards
- Time management and organizational skills

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse-Midwifery from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Nurse-Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Prior experience in OB/GYN or women’s health preferred.
