About the Role

Description


The Medical Education Specialist leverages clinical education and operating room experience to support sales teams and healthcare professionals through impactful training programs and continuing education initiatives. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing logistics for hands-on cadaveric labs and other surgical education events.


The ideal candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of surgical protocols and the ability to adapt quickly within dynamic clinical environments. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required to support scheduled events. Success in this role requires exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships across the organization and the healthcare community.


This is an in-person office-based role in Austin, Texas.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ownership of lab operations and associated processes including, but not limited to, fielding lab requests, ordering instruments, tracking lab stats, providing clinical support during labs
  • Provide clinical support and guidance in hands-on labs with clinical customers and employees; coordinate with sales team and leadership 
  • Order and maintain lab resources such as supplies, samples, instrumentation and equipment, maintain organization at all times
  • Ensure availability, maintenance, organization, and tracking of samples, literature, and sawbones for demonstration requests
  • Support surgeon training initiatives by promoting quality and consistency of local courses, labs, and demonstrations
  • Support sales initiatives by staying up to date on all new product launches and upgrades
  • Prepare training schedules and monitor the progress of new representatives within the education track, providing feedback to Team Leads and Management
  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with the sales team, Arthrex, and other vendors 
  • Assist with the support of Resident and Fellowship programs within the territory
  • Maintain social media accounts and website accordingly

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Clinical education, support, or operating room experience preferred
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours outside a typical 8am – 5pm schedule
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, Team player
  • Demonstrate a high attention to detail
  • Demonstrate strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite tools


This role combines office-based responsibilities with occasional travel to meetings and training events. The Medical Education Specialist will regularly interact with team members, actively problem-solve, and adapt to the evolving needs of the team, healthcare providers, and the business.
