About the Role

Description

  

The mortgage servicing specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining a portfolio of mortgage loan accounts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service throughout the life of the loan. This role involves processing payments, managing escrow accounts, and addressing borrower inquiries for our Loan Officers while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  · Customer Service: Serve as the point of contact for branch staff, addressing inquiries regarding loan accounts, payments, and servicing-related questions in a professional and timely manner. 

· Payment & Transaction Processing: Accurately process and record loan payments, payoffs, and adjustments; research and resolve exceptions or unapplied funds.

· Escrow & Insurance Administration: Manage and reconcile escrow accounts, including timely distribution of property taxes and hazard/ flood insurance premiums, and complete annual escrow analysis.

· Loan Maintenance & Documentation: Maintain accurate up-to-date loan records in the system, prepare mortgage payoff statements and lien releases, and ensure all documentation compiles with regulatory guidelines.

· Loan Funding & Delivery: Coordinate the funding of closed mortgage loans and ensure accurate and timely electronic delivery of required loan data and documentation to secondary market investors.

· Delinquency & Loss Mitigation: Monitor and follow up on delinquency accounts, complete modifications and extension processes if necessary.

· Compliance Reporting: Ensure all activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements; assist in audits and generate reports for management review. 

· Vendor Management & Billings: Review, process and reconcile all vendor invoices related to loan servicing operations; coordinate with operations department for timely payments.  

· Other: Cross train in processor and origination duties to perform other duties and projects as assigned.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

· Education. Possess a high school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred. 

· Experience. Proven experience as loan servicing specialist or similar position.
