About the Role

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.

We’re looking for a strong product leader to drive this vision forward!

As a Senior Product Manager on the Financial Platforms team, you will work at the core of Affirm’s backend financial systems and data infrastructure. You will be responsible for building foundational platform capabilities that power critical financial workflows and enable scalable integrations across engineering, data, and business systems. This role requires strong platform product thinking, technical fluency across APIs and data systems, and the ability to collaborate across engineering and cross-functional teams to drive impactful solutions. You will lead initiatives that improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency while supporting new products and business growth.

 

What you’ll do

  • Solve ambiguous problems. Solve complex and ambiguous platform problems, define execution strategies that balance short and long-term impact, and drive operational improvements across critical financial systems.
  • Own platform strategy and roadmap. Define product objectives and own the roadmap for foundational platform capabilities, integrations, and shared services that support financial operations and reporting workflows.
  • Drive scalable system design. Partner closely with Engineering and Data teams to define APIs, data contracts, platform interfaces, and migration strategies that improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Roadmap ownership. Define product objectives, partner with engineering and cross-functional partners to drive requirements, ultimately lead execution to launch key products and features. 
  • Communication. As a senior member of the Product Management team, you’ll regularly communicate across product and engineering teams as well as cross-functional stakeholders, including frequently presenting to senior leadership.


What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years of product management experience, preferably working on platform products.
  • Highly analytical mindset, able to balance strategic thinking with a strong bias for action and hands-on problem-solving.
  • Proven track record of launching and managing high-impact products.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with a diverse stakeholder audience.
  • The ability to turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans.
  • Solid technical chops that allow you to have in depth technical discussions and opinions.
  • This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field


Pay Grade - N
Equity Grade - 8

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $190,000 - $240,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $169,000 - $219,000
