The role

We’re looking for experienced and new to industry Fitter tradespeople to join our underground team. This is more than a job — it’s a pathway to career growth with hands‑on work, the latest mining technology and a team that will help you progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot underground longwall and associated equipment 

• Perform planned and breakdown maintenance to high quality and safety standards 

• Follow and contribute to safe work systems, including isolation and lock-out procedures 

• Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors and operators to optimise production and reliability 

• Support continuous improvement, training and mentoring of less experienced crew

• Conduct effective maintenance practices and carry out fault finding and diagnostics on complex systems including:

  • continuous miners

  • automated longwall systems

  • surface and underground conveyors

You’ll succeed if you have

• Underground coal experience (desirable)

• Relevant trade qualification (Fitter) 

• Experience with heavy mobile equipment, underground plant or mining systems desirable 

• Strong safety mindset and commitment to safe work practices 

• Good communication skills and a team‑first attitude 

• Ability to obtain any site‑specific mining certifications and medicals required
