About the Role

About the Role:

The Part Time Activities Assistant at Meadows plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organizing and facilitating engaging recreational and social activities. This position focuses on creating a positive and inclusive environment where participants feel valued and motivated to participate. The assistant collaborates closely with the activities director and other team members to plan, set up, and execute a variety of programs tailored to the residents interests and abilities. 

The schedule for this position is from 9 AM - 5 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Every Other Weekend (Saturday & Sunday) 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations.
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work hours as scheduled.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in recreational, educational, or caregiving settings.
  • Familiarity with activity planning and implementation for various age groups or abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with special needs or in community programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and preparing materials and spaces for daily activities and events.
  • Engage with participants to encourage involvement and provide support during activities.
  • Monitor participant safety and well-being throughout activities, reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to adapt activities to meet diverse needs and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and activity outcomes as directed.
  • Support the setup and cleanup of activity areas to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
