About the Role

Description

Balance Point Wellness is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC). We are a community-based holistic mental health and wellness outpatient center that provides counseling/psychotherapy and psychiatry services to individuals and families in Maryland. We are located in Baltimore, Bel Air, Salisbury, and Hunt Valley, MD. We also have Telehealth division in Maryland and Delaware and a school-based program in Baltimore County and Harford County Schools. 

Balance Point Wellness is an outpatient mental health center providing psychotherapy and psychiatry services in Maryland and Delaware. 


The Medical Coordinator I is responsible for providing day-to-day support to the prescribers (Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners) within Balance Point Wellness. Day-to-day activities include: answering phones, scheduling patients, and calling in prescriptions. The Medical Coordinator I must be a detailed oriented person who can provide exceptional customer service and patient care.


The first 90 days for this role will be in person, however, it will move to hybrid/remote after the introductory period.

Candidates must reside in Maryland.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Prescribers to provide administrative support.
  • Collaborate with Client Services Associates and Therapists to streamline patient care.
  • Answer phones and respond to messages from patients in a timely manner.
  • Respond to prescription requests in a timely manner.
  • Report patient messages and prescription requests to the appropriate prescriber accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and monitor appointments and schedules for the prescribers.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and relationship with all staff.
  • Make reports and database of the patient, inventory and other necessary documentation on computers
  • Assist with prescription prior authorizations
  • Work in adherence to the organization's standards, practices, and policies

Requirements


  • High School Diploma/GED; AA Degree or greater preferred in a health-related field
  • Customer service (at least one year preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision.
  • HIPAA compliant workspace
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines.
  • Respect for the confidentiality of all communications required within job duties.
  • Must pass a background check
