Commercial Data Analyst

Overview
The Commercial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the commercial organization through data-driven insights and analysis. This role will focus on sales performance monitoring, market and customer trend analysis, KPI reporting, monitoring project pipelines, benchmarking industry performance, and supporting strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with customer facing teams and to provide clear, actionable intelligence that enhances decision-making and drives commercial growth across the business. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen and thrives in a dynamic, data-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Sales & Commercial Analysis:
- Analyze sales performance across regions and customer segments to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide regular and ad hoc sales reports to the commercial leadership team to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Conduct deep-dive analysis into sales drivers and pricing trends
Project Pipeline Monitoring:
- Track and analyze project pipeline trends to support forecasting and resource allocation.
- Provide insights on conversion rates and pipeline health.
Industry Reporting & Benchmarking:
- Gather and interpret market and industry data to benchmark company performance.
- Prepare competitive analysis reports for leadership.
KPI Tracking:
- Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Segment Sales Tagging:
- Maintain accurate tagging of sales by segment for performance analysis.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to validate data integrity.
Customer Portfolio Review:

- Conduct regular reviews of customer portfolios to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Support account managers with actionable insights for customer strategies.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.
Experience:

- 3+ years of experience in a commercial, business analysis, or finance role, preferably in the chemical, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in data analysis, KPI reporting, and market/competitive analysis.
- Strong understanding of sales processes and market dynamics.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
