About the Role

Job Summary:
The Purchasing Manager supports and manages the employees within the department. Their main duties include locating key suppliers, negotiating the company’s purchasing agreements and making sure their materials and products meet the company’s specifications. Continue to develop purchasing strategies while building relations with our supplier companies and creating new relationships.
Requirements
Essential Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Feldmeier policies including, but not limited to safety, procedure, and regulatory standards.
- Manage the sourcing and purchasing of the raw materials, components and equipment that go into creating a product which meets the quantity, quality, and price expectations of the Company.
- Manage inventory and help establish min max quantities that align with company goals.
- Select and develop supply source for assigned material and service category to ensure the most competitive pricing and on-time delivery. Adjust PO priority to improve supplier delivery as needed.
- Manage the creation and update material master information such as pricing and lead time.
- Initiate new material setup and application process to optimize utilization.
- Improve efficiency and productivity with BOM verification and correction, make-offload decision, transfer order, and material substitution.
- Work with the finance team to ensure PO and invoice accuracy. Evaluate and mitigate financial impact in case of project hold or cancellation.
- Manage inventory levels of assigned material category. Work with the production service team and finance team to reduce inventory dollar, especially on unallocated inventory, without hindering production.
- Crosstrain other purchasing staff in all applicable aspects of our business to ensure backup and support.
- Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts.
- Research and identify potential suppliers.
- Preparing bids for potential suppliers and requesting quotes.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and new products which are beneficial to the Company.
- Support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management
- Four-year business degree or applicable experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with procurement
- Ability to build relationships with suppliers
- Negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 plus years of experience in supply chain management
- Experience in manufacturing
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
- The ability to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
- Ability to handle stress and fast paced environment.
