About the Role

Position Summary:


Shannon & Wilson’s Seattle office has an opening for a Document Editor to support our engineering and scientific teams with document preparation, quality control procedures, and general administrative tasks. We are seeking a team member with a meticulous eye for detail who will thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. 


Responsibilities:

  • Review letters, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents for punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors.
  • Format documents to adhere to internal or client style guides and templates.
  • Compile and bookmark PDFs using Adobe Acrobat or similar software.
  • Input, update, and maintain project data in company databases.
  • Comply with Shannon & Wilson’s quality assurance policies and follow related procedures for documentation and archiving.
  • Provide backup coverage for Shannon & Wilson’s reception desk. Answer phones and serve as the primary point of contact for staff, clients, and visitors.  
  • Follow and promote Shannon and Wilson’s Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies. 
  • Perform general administrative tasks and duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Must have 2-5 years of relevant experience. A college degree is preferred but not required for candidates with proven related work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and aptitude for learning new software. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word desired.  
  • Previous experience proofreading and verifying accuracy of work (including self-checks) with minimal supervision. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience managing multiple time-sensitive projects.
  • Experience with mathematical terms and equations is preferred.
  • Available to work full time at the Shannon & Wilson office. 
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking (with or without accommodations).


Level Placement:

Depending on an applicant’s education, experience, and other qualifications, a Document Editor would be placed at the Office Services II or III level at an hourly range of $29.00 to $35.00.
