Full-Time, Permanent
Hourly: 25-30/hr DOE

Job Summary:

The Dispatcher coordinates and manages the facility's daily truck logistics. This position ensures efficient and compliant scheduling, communication, and routing for CDL drivers. The Dispatcher supports leadership by monitoring driver performance, enforcing safety and compliance standards, and maintaining coordination across all departments.

Responsibilities:

• Schedule, dispatch, and track drivers and equipment for pickups, deliveries, and yard transfers.
• Communicate route assignments, load details, and schedule changes to drivers throughout the day.
• Monitor GPS and scale data to ensure efficient routing and utilization.
• Coordinate with Scale House and Yard teams to prioritize loads and minimize downtime.
• Prepare topics for and conduct monthly driver safety meetings.
• Responsible for vehicle registration/DMV administration.
• Monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for road use taxes.
• Assist in the management and tracking of drop boxes.
• Provide direction, training, and daily oversight to drivers as needed.
• Monitor driver timecards and hours of service (HOS) for DOT/FMCSA compliance.
• Assist in evaluating driver performance and addressing issues promptly.
• Report safety or equipment concerns to Maintenance or EHS.
• Assist with accident reporting and investigation documentation as needed.
• Communicate professionally with customers and staff regarding load progress and delays.
• Generate daily and weekly dispatch summaries for management review.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience (recycling, transportation, or logistics preferred).
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and HOS requirements.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency with routing software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer or radio.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Regular exposure to outdoor yard conditions and equipment noise.
