Senior Director, Community Engagement

We serve tens of thousands of people each year in seven ministries: Marisol Services, Early Childhood Education, Shelter Services, Catholic Charities Housing, St. Raphael Counseling, Family, Kinship, and Senior Services; and Parish & Community Engagement.

SUMMARY
Guided by the pastoral mission, values and goals of Catholic Charities’ ministry, provides strategic leadership and focused accountability for agency-wide community engagement efforts, signature drives and cross-ministry collaboration. Strengthens external partnerships and internal systems to improve client outcomes, referral coordination and shared problem solving across Catholic Charities.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Community Engagement & Signature Initiatives
- Lead and oversee agency-wide signature drives and seasonal initiatives, providing strategic direction, partnership development, logistical oversight, and cross-ministry coordination.
- Direct community-based engagement programs, ensuring strong donor and partner relationships, effective ministry collaboration, and client-centered execution.
- Provide support for volunteer efforts, in collaboration with the Director of Volunteer Engagement.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with community partners, schools and civic organizations.
- Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities aligned with agency priorities.
- Represent Catholic Charities at community events, partnership meetings and public-facing opportunities.
Continuum of Care Team Leadership
- Serve as director-level lead for the Continuum of Care Team with clear accountability and ownership.
- Facilitate regular cross-ministry collaboration focused on shared learning, idea generation and problem solving.
- Identify and address systemic barriers impacting client care and ministry coordination.
Disaster Recovery Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for Catholic Charities’ Disaster Recovery Ministry, ensuring alignment with agency mission and national best practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison and organizational representative to Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) and regional disaster response networks.
- Develop and maintain disaster preparedness protocols.
- Cultivate and steward partnerships with community agencies, parishes, government entities, and relief organizations to strengthen coordinated response capacity.
Systems Improvement & Strategic Support
- Identify gaps in communication, coordination and operational clarity that impact ministry effectiveness.
- Propose and implement practical solutions that improve collaboration and client experience
- Partner with the Archdiocese and Web manager to support HubSpot data management, improving data integrity, segmentation strategy, and overall system performance.
- Assist in organizing, auditing, and optimizing HubSpot data to enhance reporting accuracy, campaign targeting, and measurable outcomes.
Internal Partnership & Leadership
- Serve as a connector across ministries, fostering trust, clarity and shared mission.
- Provide leadership support for ministry efforts as needed during leadership transitions.
- Identify opportunities to proactively assist ministries and leadership beyond assigned responsibilities.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership experience in in community engagement, nonprofit management, or ministry leadership.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions.
- Skilled facilitator able to guide cross functional teams toward shared outcomes
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited university plus four to ten years senior management or non-profit related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MINISTERIAL REQUIREMENTS
Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and/or intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043). Refrain from public promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License, satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and proof of insurance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
$90,000-$95,000 Annually
Training: We provide a robust training curriculum that will support our employees throughout their career. - Shift is Full Time
- Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new employees - increasing based on tenure) promoting work life balance.
- 15 Paid Holidays annually (shelters are 24/7, so if a holiday is worked, holiday pay is included.)
- 403b Retirement Plan with Agency contribution of 4% & match up to 2% of annual compensation.
- Sabbatical Leave Program: Employees who have completed seven years of continuous full-time service are eligible for a paid sabbatical leave to support rest, renewal, and professional or personal growth. Eligible staff may take 4 weeks of sabbatical leave.
- Choice of 3 PPO Medical Plans (90% of employee's and 75% of dependent’s premiums is paid by Agency), Dental, & Vision starting the 1st day of the month following start date.

**Part-time employees (20-29 hours per week) also receive paid annual leave, company paid holidays, and 403b retirement plan with agency contribution and match.
