Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician

The GSW Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall aesthetic, safety and operational functionality of both the outdoor landscaping and the interior building infrastructure. This hands-on position is responsible for preventative maintenance and minor repairs, and coordinates with contractors for specialized project/repairs.

Essential Functions
- Responsible for landscape care that includes, but is not limited to: mowing, weeding, edging, mulching of flower beds and trees to maintain high aesthetic standards -
- Ensure that all turf and plant areas are monitored for appropriate fertilization
- Maintain proper maintenance and repairs to irrigation system
- Maintain proper upkeep of exterior features of including pathways, fences, signage, etc.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance to all buildings including but not limited too HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Ensure proper security measures are taken to secure the workplace including collaborating with alarm system and security professionals when required
- Oversee external custodial services providers
- Vendor management - support bids and contract negotiations for 3rd party contractors
- Schedule 3rd party contractors for specialized work (HVAC, electrical, irrigation, etc,)
- Other duties as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Essential Functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in progressively responsible landscaping, groundskeeping or building maintenance roles
- High school diploma or GED - Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Working knowledge of mechanical repair and building maintenance practices
- Basic knowledge of applicable safety guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize
- Ability to build and maintain rapport
- Strong record keeping and tracking skills
- Ability to develop budgets, proposals and manage expenses
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite

- Salary
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
